how to shorten links? help!

hi, anone know how to shorten a link, eg say i wanted to include a link to currys i would do http://www.currys.co.uk/ but how do people do it when its says, for currys click here
and when you click on the word 'here' it takes you to the link!?

On this forum, highlight the text you want to be the link, then use the Insert Link tool on the Quick Reply - 6th icon along looks like a globe with a link at the bottom - and put in the full http link in the popup box.

It's also available in the Advanced reply section.

{url=http://linky.com/}test you want it to say{/url}

where {are changed for [

Not much else to explain either use the simple tool with the icon as I mentioned earlier on quick or advanced reply, or type in the code manually as bob_man_uk said.

Type: [ url=http://www.siteyouwanttolinkto.com ] Text you want to appear as the link [ /url ]

But remove the spaces I've put in between the brackets.

e.g. Link to MoneySavingExpert
