Hi not sure if this is in the right catagory, so if not will someone please move it for me.
We are trying to cut down on our household bills.
What i want to know is we have a back boiler for our central heating and we use this to heat our water. i leave the hot water on all the time (not the emersion heater).
There are only two of use who live here we have a wash in the morning and we like a bath every night (yes we share the water). We have a dishwasher which uses cold water so we don't need to heat water for that, and i only do laundry washing on a weekend.
What i want to know is would we be better off using the timer for the hot water to come on early morning and in the afternoon. if so how long would the timer need to be on for to heat a tank of water enough for a bath.
I would really appreciate your help.
Thanks all, sarah1

This might be better off on one of the utilities boards but you don't say which power source you're using
Anyway, there's a thread on the Elec & Gas Board that might be of help to you.
