Can anyone advise how much bio washing powder to how much water in the tub?
Also, hot, warm or cold water.
    Cheers x

You'd have to buy shower curtains that are bacteria and mildew resistant.
You can find many of them at showerrods.com

Please can anyone advise on cleaning black mold spots from bottom half of shower curtain?

I have tried washing gel in machine several times.
    Soaked in white vinegar.

    Thanks

Scrubbing with a hard brush and bleach prior to washing helps, but this roughs up the surface, so is likely it will reappear.

I've not tried it, but read somewhere that waterproofing spray (the sort you get for tents/jackets) may help once you have a clean curtain.

Allow it to dry unfolded after the shower.

Thanks Sally but I think the bleach will take the blue out of the curtain.

I have just been reading about putting a towel in the machine with the curtains to scour them a bit.

I've put mine in the wash with bleach on a 40c cycle and it got most of it out.

Borax with Sodium Bicarb is supposed to work well on moulds and fungi but whether it will get out stains I don't know. I have both of these and do intend trying them when I get some time. I usually use bleech on my shower curtain which removes the black from the bottom and has not really affected the pattern to a noticeable degree. It probably has removed/faded it a bit but not enough to worry about because the curtain will need replacing before it is very noticeable.

I had a big problem with black marks on my kitchen curtains and they were very hard work to get the black mould stains off them. I did not have any borax at the time and didn't know it kills mould & fungi so cannot comment on whether it would of got the marks out.
