Are you a member of a union as I think you need to check your employment status. If not contact CAB urgently.

If I am correct you cannot be temporary for more than 2 years even if on a temporary contract. If the project has now lost its funding then you are redundant. When grants are applied for they have to have an exit plan. This exit plan details what the cost implications are for terminating staff i.e. redundancy costs. If you will be working on the same project they have just secured continous funding. That means they cannot reduce your pay for the same work, they cannot make you redundant as your job still exists.

Depends how far you want to take this and how much you want to go back to work. If you are not too bothered you can afford to make a fuss. You never know you might get paid off!

The man sounds horrible to work for.

If you do quit......why not look for some weekend work to replace some of your earnings. It's what I did after leaving a full time job in the city after maternity leave. I now have a local office job on Saturdays and Sundays (therefore I get preferential weekend pay) so I get to stay at home during the week, and my partner takes over the baby sitting duties on a weekend.

The pay wasn't great to start with, but after three years, it has really built up and TBH, it's the best 'career move' I ever made! (as I now get to spend as much time as possible with my family).

Another benefit is also that whilst you're looking for part time/weekend work, you'll be able to claim JSA (contributions based), which also helps towards bridging the income gap.

Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."
