No, because not everyone with a 4 month old pup has kids as well.

Are you sure about that? A large number of people with small children have 4 month old puppies, but they also have enough savvy not to buy one from someone who breeds from aggressive dogs for profit without giving a nun's chuff about the consequences of what they are introducing into the bloodlines.

This is exactly how Rottweilers get such a bad reputation - irresponsible breeding coupled with owners who were not thinking very carefully when selecting a reputable breeder.

No, I cannot for certain say that everyone with a 4 month old puppy doesn't have children, of course I can't. What a ridiculous question.
It aint over til I've done singing....
  • Not well, so do not have energy to read all this thread. If you have Sky or Freeview, please take a look at The Dog Whisperer on at 6pm on "DAVE" each day. Although I have almost always had a dog, I learn something new with each programme.

He rehabilitates dogs and trains their owners!

So why did you say it then? What a ridiculous statement!

I don't know what your beef is, but I suggest that you send it to me in a PM if you need to as this thread is not being helped by this at all.

Please don't follow the advice of Cesar Milan - indeed his own program even carries a caveat not to use his methods! He is not a dog trainer, or a dog behaviourist, he is a dog groomer! He uses methods based on old-fashioned 'dominance' theory, which has now been debunked by many eminent canine behaviourists, and also revoked by the original researchers. CMs methods are at best dubious, and at worse are downright cruel, things like 'flooding', alpha rolls and cruel pieces of equipment (like prong collars, and electric shock collars).

It really is not necessary to be dominant over your dog - it's more about being consistent with your 'rules' and training your dog what is expected of it, not just punishing it when it does something undesirable.

I think if the OPs friend tried his tactics with her already aggressive rottie, she will make it much much worse and will endanger herself and her family.

That's because i don't have one. You criticised my question as 'Ridiculous' when it was a response to the equally ridiculous statement YOU yourself had made on the previous page.

I don't have a 'Beef' as you put it so stop looking for things that aren't there. Oh, and i'd rather not waste my time pm'ing someone who finds my replies so 'ridiculous' so don't ask me to do so please.

Their is another thread on here about some one who wants a rottie......

    http://forums.moneysavingexpert.com/showthread.html?t=668371

Most of the (sensible:rolleyes: ) replies on it mention that they are a breed that needs good management!!!! Sorry but IMHO this is another person who hasn't thought through or put in the work into a large boisterious pup.....try and forget what breed the pup is, just for a moment, and it all sounds so much more manageable doesn't it?

By the sounds of things the best option for this dog would to be rehomed through a BREED rescue while there's still time for his bad habits to be undone fairly easily

BTW, a lot of rotties "chat" a lot of people mistake that for growling:D
