I'm still a newbie novice but... my favourite part of the OS forum has to be the people :D I've read the threads and there's so much helpful advice out there. Everyone seems to help other think of an OS solution to a particular problem. It's great to come on here in a morning and gain inspiration about how to do things, what to cook for tea etc etc. I've posted a few questions and it's been great how others have replied to my questions and given me (excellent!) advice. Also it's nice to know there's loads of likeminded people out there (just not in my neck of the woods). You get funny looks if you tell people you are not working but staying at home to bring up your children, cook proper meals most days, buy very little (if at all) convience foods etc etc. I have had people comment that i need to live in 2005. i do live in 2005 - i just live in a healthy, non-consumerist 2005 using modern technology to make good, healthy food for my kids. Living this way i know what's in the food and i'm finding that it's a cheaper way to be. ALso I feel better and it helps my self-esteem to know I can cook well for my kids.

Good for you Zziggi! Being of the older generation I don't need an excuse to be OS, It's just a way of life to me.
I love the Old Style board because there is such a wide variety of people here and all so friendly and it's nice to think that the older ways will not be forgotten.

Most of all, I like putting some of the money I've saved into my son's bank account for when he is older, and educated in the moneysaving fashion that I've been. The rest I use to treat myself with now and again.:D

powie69 - what a great idea. A great way to watch you PIN money grow. A great tip.

It's a great feeling when you see your kidz being responsible with money and refusing to buy into the "I NEED IT NOW - SUPERSIZE ME CULTURE"

My 8yo girl has 50p to spend on tuck at her weekly youth club. Last year she bought me a lovely gift for my birthday. It only costa pound or so but she had paid for it by only spending 40p on tuck and saving 10p for weeks and weeks without me knowing. I wish they did a smiley for proud/humbled/greatful

Thought I had posted on here... obviously not, I love the whole of OS. I like the recipe threads best probably, I love to cook and it is great for ideas.

Also I really enjoy the daily threads, thank you Queenie. And Squeaky's comments are also always helpful. I think it is great because no matter what I post I get a response and some advice. When I don't post I can just read what everyone else is up to and think about all the money I could be saving. Still to implement vinegar cleaning and fabric conditioner as have stuff that needs to be used up.... But I will!

So I don't have a favourite bit of OS I like to hear from everybody and all the things they do that they enjoy, or if someone is down in the dumps how others will be as helpful as possible to cheer them up, sending wishes and electric hugs! Everyone is lovely :D

    Thanks guys :T
