    Aconitum, or monkshood, form big, tuberous roots, but all parts are toxic. They are not really 'bulbs' and you'd probably know if you'd planted any, so don't worry. Some people suggest wearing gloves to handle them.

    No wonder this plant turns up in Harry Potter as Wolfsbane; a potion of which is supposed to alleviate the symptoms of being a werewolf!

    It might be worth getting the Royal Horticultural Society's encyclopedia of Plants and flowers as it is surprising how many plants in the garden are toxic.

  • we have this problem with my boxer who has destroyed all my seeds in seconds when i wasnt watching he also has just broken the washing line as i left his outside when a duvet was drying !!

    i have a long training lead which when im not around he get tied to the washing line pole ! it works as long as nothing is in reach, we are in the process of fencing of the garden so i can grow veg next year
