The wireless broadband router we have is about 7 years old and seems to be struggling. Can anybody recommend a reasonably priced wireless router that can handle several devices at the same time.

Are you ADSL or Cable?
What is the exact current model of your router?0 -
We are cable. The model is Netgear MR814V20

Why do you think that the router is struggling? All routers can handle several devices at the same time. Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

What are your symptoms? I would expect a router to either work or not. If you really want to replace it I would recommned a Netgear WGR614.It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
The symptons are a slow internet response (which there didn't used to be) which slows down even further when 2 or more devices are using it and also when using the PS3 the internet will crash and have to be re-started on the other PCs.0

The problem isn't the overall download speed as such, it's just when there's more than one device connected it gets interrupted very easily.0

i would recommend against the use of netgear routers, they are notoriously flaky, linksys or dlink are my recomendations
here the best price i can find for this router0 -
I very much doubt if a different make of router would route his packets any better! Blue text on this forum usually signifies hyperlinks, so click on them!..:wall:0

i think you'll find that different routers have custom made firmware so i would expect it to be better, my problem with netgear is that the majority of them drop the internet at the first sign of a blip on the line.0
