Does it come on when you select test ?
It could be as simple as your mouse is to sensitive and is simply moving on it's own as it where, mine for instance if i dont have it on the right surface will just randomly move across the screen even though the mouse is not moving at all so screen saver wont come on .

Screensavers are a thing of the past. If your not looking at the screen, why do you want it to display something different?

  • Dont screensavers do what they are called? save your screen from damage as still pictures can burn your screen?

Can't remember last time I even had a screen saver. My PC monitor just goes straight into power saving mode if I'm not here.

Assuming it's a modern monitor, LCDs don't have screen burn. Even if it was a CRT screen burn is pretty much a thing of the past anyway.

Are you using an old style CRT monitor? As superscaper says, use power saving mode if you are bothered.
