11 hour power cut

Our power was off for 11 hours yesterday, caused (I think) by someone cutting through a wire when installing new street lights.
Does anyone know whether power suppliers pay compensation under these circumstances ?

We had a 16 hour power cut recently. They must have worked extra hard to get the power back under the 18 hours 0
