PS3 internet connection

Hi Guys

I know this is a topic that has been covered but i can't find an answer that seems to fit. I've got a BT home that my PC is connected to by ethernet because the PC is not wi-fi enabled. The hub and PC are upstairs so I don't want to run a cable to the PS3 downstairs. Have tried to connect PS3 wirelessly but after initial set-up it says connection failed. I think the problem maybe that I don't have a WEP code or at least don't know where to find one. I have managed to find both my IP address and MAC code on the hub. I'm obviously doing something wrong but I'm not techie minded and don't know where to start. As anyone any ideas?

Thanks

Ian

Hi We are having the same problem-using Virgin broadband and a switch that we have connected an ethernet cable to. When we try and set up PS3 it fails but on the TV screen says its enabled. Have used IP address of PC and PS3 says its sucessful but internet connection still fails.

Any help/ideas would be really appreciated

If you're using the BT homehub, go to the advanced page of the hub setup thing, and then click on wireless - you'll find your WEP key settings under the security section.

It's been a while since I got mine, but if I remember rightly - If you've never been in the advanced page before the login details will be admin, then the password should be the serial (printed on the bottom of the hub).

Thanks very much for your help. I did try the settings on the hub but when I got to the little screen that asks for a login name and password I was lost! Why don't these people tell you where to find stuff.

Anywaythanks a lot. I'll give it a try but probably be posting for more advice later:o
