Saw this advertised in the Times yesterday, claiming to show property in great detail:
www.globrix.com
So far it seems pretty good. Wonder how they get their data.

well I can't get it to do anything. Can't type in the box and I tried 3 browsers0

Works fine for me, but you have to be quite specific, usually by town. 'Pembrokshire', for example, gets nothing, but 'Tenby' does.0

Just seems to link you through to individual agent's sites? Not a bad site, but I doubt it will be able to catch up with Rightmove

Had another go. Because of the colour scheme and it being late at night when I clicked in the box and the word "where" stayed, I couldn't see the cursor and just assumed that nothing was happening.
When I clicked in the big box I expected the white area to clear.
It would be good for trying to track down specific details. I just looked for my town, then clicked on "sea view" (didn't think any had that) and it came up with 2. So that'd be useful if you were looking for specifics like a conservatory or whatever.
Having said that, the two properties never loaded to the point where I could see the details. Just kept getting the "loading" bar, so good idea, needs a bit more work.0 -
Had a quick play and spotted this in Leeds

Very missleading as the entry in the search results says 30k 1 bed flat, yet when you go into the advert it's a rental for £505 per month with a restriction that a single person taking it can earn a MAX of 25k per year, so after taking tax etc etc out of their income they then have to take another £6,060 to pay for their one bedroom flat!!!!! (I realise this is not the search engines website but thought it a bizarre setup). There's another one for £550 per month, but at least that one has 2 bedrooms so one could be rented out (assuming the lease allows it) as long as the combined income is no more than 30k!0 -

Not sure if the point you are making is erroneous results, or something about the price of renting flats.Had a quick play and spotted this in Leeds

I don't see what would be wrong with somebody earning £25k and paying out £550 in rent.
Earning £25k is a takehome of £1555/month, so they'd have a whole £1000 to live on. Compare that to those earning £16000, who start off by taking home £1000 and THEN paying rent of some sort. So I'm a bit confused that you seem to be making out it is outrageous0
