anyone got any ideas ebay help

We're writing to let you know that we have reviewed the selling restriction in place on your account.

We had limited your sales activity because the level of buyer dissatisfaction on your account breached our Seller Non-Performance policy.

Thirty days have now elapsed and we've reviewed your account again. Unfortunately there has yet not been a significant improvement in your account standing so we've decided that the restriction on your account will remain until further notice.

Your selling limit is still set at half (50 percent) of your average sales in the previous 90 days of trading. Bear in mind that your account has already been restricted over the past 30 days, so your limit will be lower than it was.

Once you reach your limit, you won't be able to list any new items for sale on eBay. However, you may continue to buy items on eBay, access emails in My Messages and contact your buyers.

***About eBay's Seller Non-Performance policy***

All eBay sellers must perform in a manner that results in a consistently high level of buyer satisfaction. If a seller's behaviour results in greater than a 5 percent level of buyer dissatisfaction (i.e. negative/neutral Feedback and/or Item Not Received or Not as Described complaints) over a 90-day period, the seller is in breach of the Seller Non-Performance policy and eBay may take action against their account.

This may be related to the star system. I know ebay are taking much more notice of detailed ratings. Do you overcharge for postage?

Your communication and dispatch ratings are low, 3.6/3.7. I'm guessing you're sending in about 7 days or more and not emailing customers to know.

You need to send out within 2 days of payment to get a decent rating, aim to send out as soon as payment is received, that way both ratings will increase.

Subscribe to selling manager to automate some end of item emails to make your communication better.

So far the Star ratings are only being used to filter the search results based on P&P charges, although there are more plans for them later this year.

With only 29 star ratings since March, I guess you are only selling a few items occasionally, but how many items have you sold in the last 90 days, and how many of them have resulted in a negative or neutral feedback? Have you had any buyers open Item Not received disputes against you?

Even if the disputes have been closed after the buyer has received their item, these still count against your Seller Performance Target. The only way to lift the restriction is to make sure the few listings that you are permitted to offer all go peachy smooth, this will improve your ratio of postive transactions against the non-positive ones on your record, but if you are only listing a few items then this may take a little while longer.

This highlights the "Black or White" nature of the Seller Performance Policy. Remember that neutral feedback is classed as a negative, and even if a dispute raised against a seller is closed by a satisfied buyer who then goes on to leave a positive feedback, the transacton is still a non-positive in eBays opinion.

How many Neutrals where left during the postal strike? How may neutrals are left by continually underwhelmed people where the comments state - "all good", or "fine"? All of these count against sellers.

And if that seller has only sold a handful of items, it may only take one neutral to penalise them - regardless of circumstance, which is what I suspect has happened with the OP.

On the flip side, a high volume seller collecting a daily dose of negs and neutrals can still continue as they have more transactions to dilute these bad sales with.

It's like the others have said, ebay don't just look at negs now they look at the whole buying experience including stars and it seems anyone falling regularly below 4 full stars for the shipping and despatch categories are at risk of a short ban until the overall scores pick up again. It also takes into account all complaints which of course you can't possibly know about, alas. So anyone making a complaint about dleays in receiving their goods, or any other general complaint against you would not on it's own affect your account but when totalled up with the stars and feedback might be enough for the ban.

The speed of shipping appears to be coming more of an issue with buyers, i have started to get buyers routinely add a note to their paypal payments asking whether shipping is within 24 or 48 hours (whatever) and I assume they say that due to having had problems elsewhere.

This is the same system as the Amazon one and it's not always popular there either with sellers.
