Well basically the title says it all I am a student who also works 12-16hrs per week and was wondering when applying for a CC, the Halifax One Card to be specific - is it better to put my employment status as 'Student' or 'Part-time' on the online application form?

Hi Paul, I'm a student and got the Halifax One on 0% last year. I put student and all went through OK; the credit limit is very low on it though. I've never had too much bother obtaining credit, despite declaring I'm a student. I think that the nice thing about some CC applications is that they ask for household income and not your individual income

Let us know how you get on.0 -
its difficult to say whats best

whats the credit limit on it? I only need about 1500GBP basically to make one purchase - an apple laptop - and then have around 8 months to pay it off interest free.0

I'm not saying this is the right answer, but this is the way I've worked it out.
I'm studying on a full-time college course that is 12.5 hours per week.
I work part-time at weekends doing 16 hours per week.
On any applications (insurance, credit etc) I put down that I'm employed part time in customer services, I put this because I work for more hours than I do at college. Obviously if there's a box for secondary employment I put student as well.0
