pc keeps restarting!!

my friend has just called up, everytime she clicks to sign into her pc, it restarts back to the sign in page (where user names are listed)
what can we do?

    1st course of action

    Reboot pc>keep tapping F8>you will be presented with menu>select safemode>on the next screen select administrator>if you have xp you will have an option to use system restore ,select yes>choose a date by clicking on highlighted date>follow the instructions.

    You should be up and running 5 minutes
