Whats best 2 credit cards, one at 12.9% APR (variable) & one at 15.9% APR or one card transferring the balances from two onto one card and if so what card is recommended? I would prefer to make one pymt per mth than two!!

    whats best is

increase the amount you pay back each month so the debt is cleared off earlier and so less interest is paid.

always pay the minimum on the lowest APR debts and pay as much as possible on the highest APR debt so you pay less interest overall

stop using CC cards and once they are paid off always save for things you want rather than pay all that interest (except mortgages of course).

if your credit ratings are good then look for either 0% interest CC and BT to them or look at low LOB cards or if not then find the lowest APR cards and BT to them. (depends upon how big your debts are and how much you can pay per month)
  • Thanks for your response but I struggle already to afford to pay the minimum pymts on both and have already stopped using them, I've never missed a pymt and would like one card with one monthly payment. I originally had one but swapped to two with so called better rates etc, although I had to split the balance to two cards. My intention was to only use one but unfortunately this never happened & both are pretty nr the limits and with the interest its hardly going down. I am planning on getting a mortgage in the Summer, will having two cards that only the minimum pymts are ever made on affect my chances of a mortgage approval?
