pc has xp pro and laptop xp home

pc is hard wired to a netgear router with the laptop connecting over wifi

trying to set up sharing between the two
ran the wizard and on the laptop i can see the pc & laptopin workgroup computers
however i get an error trying to connect to the pc
in the pc i get an error that the workgroup is not accesible.

tried disabling the pc's firewall to no avail(not using windows firewall)

you have to enable sharing for the folders/files.
and you have to have a PW for the puter. if your PC starts up with no PW required, then you cannot share.
    enable a PW logon.
    Get some gorm.

Double check that Windows Firewall is disabled.

Just because you've told it that you don't want it running doesn't mean that it isn't!

The XP firewall is notorious for doing it's own thing.

I had lots of problems setting up sharing between my desktop and laptop. Do you have Norton? Norton was the cause of my problem.
