Alfonso, your a genious, it seems to have solved the issue. The only problem I seem to be getting now, is the inability to install my virus software, (I couldnt get Renv to run, it simply crashed and it still refuses to install any windows updates. But you have solved the crashing issue, I cant thank you enough.

If I try to install VirginMedia's Pc Netgaurd I get a missing ActDtR.dll prompt, and it refuses to install. I have the same issue with Critical updates, from Windows, and wonder wether or not its it is somehow related or corrupted.

Please use the Kaspersky On-line Scanner

• Accept the Active X object and download the latest definitions.
• When the scanner is ready, click Scan Settings.
• Select the Extended anti-virus database.
• Select Scan Archives & Scan Mail Bases and then ok.
• Click My Computer to run a full system scan.
• When complete, choose Save as Text and save the log file to your desktop ready for posting.

You may need two posts for the results so please make sure you include the lot along with a fresh HijackThis log when done.

Sorry about the delay Alfonso, I did try twice using Kaspersky, I left it running overnight and it succesfully completed its scan.......but thats as far as it would go. It said it detected various virus's, but offered me nothing as to what they were, not even an option for saving Log Files. It simply reported a succesful scan, with no other options.

Updated news, I have managed to get my Netguard installed (after some jiggling). much seems fine, except I am still having problems with Windows security update, which simply refuses to update and offers no reason for it, but continues to try to update the file.
