ICE Save CHAPS ???

Hi there folks,

Have got to make a CHAPS payment next week, probably Monday, from my ICE Save web based account.

Would any of you kind people be able to spare a minute to share your experiences with me?

Is there any pitfalls i should be aware of? I know it will cost me £30.00 quid, but does it go and arrive in the destination account the same day?

Any tips, please and thanks!

Did a CHAPS transfer from Icesave yesterday as it happens and all went smoothly. I initiated it just after 9 a.m. and the money showed up in the destination account (Nationwide FlexAccount) by 2 p.m.

When the money shows up may also depend on the procedures at your destination bank/building society. E.g. when I did a CHAPS transfer INTO Icesave, it did not show up until start of business the next day even Icesave confirmed by phone that it was received on the day of transfer with interest credited from then. So it may be worth a quick call to your destination's customer services to check, and save a lot of worry.

Clearly you also have to take into account the restriction that you can now have only one destination account set up, and change this in advance if necessary, which may take several days.

Did a chaps Tuesday (big amount) at 09.30 arrived 15.10 same day.
