Antique buying/selling in Cardiff/Wales area?

Due to a bereavement I have been left a lot of antique ornaments, etc. Anyone know where I could start in the Cardiff location or nearby, to look for auctions or fair dealers/antique shops that might give me an idea of what they are worth/buy them from me? I think they are too good for a car boot or ebay and I may not get what they are really worth,

Cheers!

Does the pump house off Penarth Road (see it from the link road) buy antiques?
Am not witty enough to put something cool and informative here:o :o
  • I don't know if its still there but in one of the arcades - I think it was Dominans Arcade - by where David Morgan used to be there was a shop that contained several individual traders that sold the sort of items you know have to dispose of.

Before you do get rid of them though I would try and do some research to see if you did have any really valuable items, as (and i am sorry to say this) I think you may be taken advantage of if you show any signs of ignorance.

  • You could try Anthemion Auctions, off Colchester Avenue. They have a valuation day, usually on Fridays. I have sold things through them several times and been happy. They are in the phone book.
