  • Thanks fc123! I will have a look through tomorrow and see what I can throw together...typical, put on a few pounds, nowt fits, then I get to go on the tele! And can't even use it as an excuse to buy something new...as gotta watch those pennies! I don't have a shift dress and I work mainly with men (as I work in I.T) so don't really have anyone I can borrow from. I must have something...Thanks for all your advice!

  • I think what you are doing is wonderful and very brave. Lucky you meeting Martin. I will set Sky+, really looking forward to seeing it. Good think you told your dad, at least he is well prepared!
Second and final LBM 01/01/11 Nearly got there but fell of wagon. HAVE to do it this time
  • Cheers Squirrel29! One thing he did ask is why I just don't go bankrupt and get it all out of the way...I was a bit upset by that remark and told him that at 28 years old, I didn't want to do that and have one crappy relationship haunt me for the rest of my life...just because my ex went down that route, doesn't mean I have to and why should I jeopordise my daughter's and my own happiness and chance of one day getting somewhere nice to live etc...just not worth it! All this stuff is do-able and I know it will be hard but I can't wait for the day I can be debt free...and I think that knowing I am doing this will make me think hard before I potentially waste any money. Someone once said to me whatever doesn't kill you will make you stronger and I really believe that to be true!

Good for you! it'll be an amazing feeling once you finally get there and hopefully you'll learn some lessons that help you hang on to your money in the future even when you don't need to - that's what I'm hoping for myself... Probably won't catch you on wed but hopefully you'll update and let us know how it went. Enjoy yourself and don't listen to any negative comments, you're doing what's right for you and it WILL make you stronger.

  • I think what you're doing is amazing and just think how many more people who may be in similar situations you can help and inspire by doing this. I've a few days off work this coming week and just hope I manage to catch the show. All the best :A
  • Thanks guys, it would be great if someone out there was watching and thought...blimey, I don't want to get like that, lets sort the debt out now! So it could help someone not get into the same situation as me! I will ignore the silly comments and just enjoy the whole experience!

I will definitely keep everyone updated! Might get a debt diary back on here again too! I am feeling so really inspired now and despite having what I thought was my light bulb moment before, I don't think it really was as I never felt as eager to change and get things sorted as I do now! Yay! :j
