Prudential Charging Me Extra on My Quote

I got Pudential car insuarnce online through their website and agreed the price and paid for it there and then with my credit card.

They then sent me my policy details and handbook etc. Then a few weeks later they sent me a letter saying they had identified a error on the payment and when i did it online they didn't collect the full amount.

£x amount is outstanding and they will be taking it from my card.

Can they do this?

Without clarification of the position, if the amount originally debited to your card was less than the amount of the quote then yes, they are entitled to take the outstanding monies to make the total up to the amount first quoted.

I also had the same problem with the Pru, they did'nt take out money for the legal protection insurance also it took them a month to supply the documents for the breakdown cover and lastly no money is showing in Quidco.
