Sounds to me that she was tired today, one of my DGS is just awful if he is tired. Give it another go.
Mind you on a different note if your daughter is destined to be little its no bad thing for her to be a little pushy. We littlies, I am only 5ft, have to be asertive or get overlooked you know!!
She is destined to be a midget
Shes 2 now and is in 9 - 12mth clothes... I can't see her shooting up either. I agree with assertive, but not having small persons complex!!
Most of my family are tiny, I'm the exception at a giant 5ft 6, the rest are all 5ftish or less.I saw two shooting stars last nightI wished on them but they were only satellitesIs it wrong to wish on space hardwareI wish, I wish, I wish you'd care0 -
I remember when my DS2 (now nearly 14) went to Tumbletots he used to have a hissy fit because he hated having to take his shoes and socks off......how come when your child is the one throwing a wobbly all the others are angels?!!
I would give him another try and then make your decision.0 -
I never took my two to tumbletots so can't help on that front but when it comes to kids acting up I know exactly how you feel. Thing is I work in a pre-school (kiddies aged 2 yrs 6 mnths to 4 yrs 9 mnths) and am therefore great at reassuring other parents that their kids behaviour is perfectly normal and not to worry etc yet when it comes to my own.....
But anyway given it was midgets first time at tumbletots and that she's only a dinky (hows her speech btw? I see a direct link between speech and number of paddys, tis usually pure frustration on their part, bless em) I don't think she acted any difference than a lot of kids would of. I agree with the above poster who said give it another go and if she doesn't take to it leave it for now, you can always try again when she's a bit older and you may well find something else she likes....swimming or baby music class maybe??
Have to say though I love the small feisty ones myself, we had a new little girl start at pre-school this monday, only just 2 and half and the tiniest little dot you ever did see but she ran rings round us and the other 17 kids all morning lol, I'm smitten!:heart2: Mumma to DD 13yrs, DD 11yrs & DS 3 yrs. :heart2:0 -
my daughter attends tumbletots and was exactly the same for about the first 4 weeks and then miraculaously changed character! i think its because they dont really know what they are doing to start with - especially the train bit. once they get the hang of it, they are happy to participate, and as for the taking turn problems - thats part of the reason you are going - so your child learns new things including some self control - or thats the reason we started going anyhow!
good luck!0 -
Hiya Ophie,
Never been to tumbletots, it sounds fun though, gonna check for a local one for DS but anyway onto your DD, It seems like she had plenty of sleep today so maybe she is coming down with something, i've noticed my DS is very naughty if he is coming down with something, its not always obvious either, he had hand foot and mouth previously, its in their system for a few days before the spots appear and i thought he had turned into chuckybut its the illness which makes them grouchy for 2-3 days!

Poor you, its horrid when that happens.
Have you tried looking at your local leisure centres? Many offer similar type classes at a fraction of the cost and without the block booking, pressure to buy branded merchandise etc etc.
Pay as you go means you can try for a couple of weeks, leave it a while and then try again without loosing out financially.
Children need to learn to wait their turn and share their toys. Perhaps you could set up some senarios at home where she begins to learn these skills without realising.
Off the top of my head, perhaps a puzzle where she does a piece you do a piece - it can't do any harm.7 Angel Bears for LovingHands Autumn Challenge. 10 KYSTGYSES. 3 and 3/4 (ran out of wool) small blanket/large square, 2 premie blankets, 2 Angel Claire Bodywarmers0 -

I used to be a babyroom leader so used to doing the same to parents myself. But when its my own ARRGGGGGGHHHHHHHH   probably why I get more frustrated cos other peoples kids I am calm with, my own... not a chance! But anyway given it was midgets first time at tumbletots and that she's only a dinky (hows her speech btw? Speech is coming on in leaps and bounds, although not actually speaking yet she does have sign language which she uses to communicate and is trying really hard to make her mouth in the right shapes... I will try the swimming and music classes too. Hopefully we can do all 3 if she stops being a bratHave to say though I love the small feisty ones myself, we had a new little girl start at pre-school this monday, only just 2 and half and the tiniest little dot you ever did see but she ran rings round us and the other 17 kids all morning lol, I'm smitten!
She is very small and very fiesty... the worker there said something along the lines of 'oh the tiny ones are always fiesty' and 'I bet its a nightmare to get clothes to fit her'. Midget is 2 and 15 days (but is premie by a month) she has a 0-3mth size waist and for height she is in 9 - 12mths, so yes clothing is hard to find - we have loads of belts to try and get trousers to fit.
I'll give it a go for the next 3 sessions and see if she improves. But not join Tumble Tots UK (another £20 per year) until I know how she goes.
Thanks for all your advice everyone, nice to know I'm not alone in having the only badly behaved brat in a room full of angels :AI saw two shooting stars last nightI wished on them but they were only satellitesIs it wrong to wish on space hardwareI wish, I wish, I wish you'd care0 -

Don't you believe itNone of them are angels......six weeks at that place will soon tell you that!
As for above posts on taking turns.....that's something that they soon pick up.....you don't need to do any intensive "training" to instill "self control"
Your description of your little girl reminds me of one of the girls at my daughter's nursery. She was premature too and is still tiny, she's also deaf and the class are all learning sign language......she seems to be the most popular child in the class with all the other kids! My little girl can't stop talking about her!"One day I realised that when you are lying in your grave, it's no good saying, "I was too shy, too frightened."
Because by then you've blown your chances. That's it."0 -
I feel for you, its so embarrassing when they play up like that. My youngest used to hate shopping and i used to dread it every week
He used to throw most of the shopping out of the trolley  He has grown out of that now thank goodness.
I know what it is like to have a little one who doesnt talk to well. My son will be 4 soon and he is going to speech therapy classes. Before he could talk he used to get so upset and annoyed with himself, felt so sorry for the little fella. He is so much happier now he can communicate. Good luck X0 -
Ooooo just had a thought, do you have a wacky warehouse or similar near by? Might be a sort of inbetweeny step leading up to tumbletots if you see what i mean, they can charge round those to their hearts content and its still interaction with other kiddlypops.:heart2: Mumma to DD 13yrs, DD 11yrs & DS 3 yrs. :heart2:0
