Trip to newcastle

Hi all,

Looking for some advice, we are planning a trip to Newcastle this weekend for a vipers game, anyone got any suggestions where we can go for a nice cheap meal before the game, you know the type of thing "family restaurants" eg TGI's, beefeater etc... don't know our way about and have little time so somewhere near the Metro Arena would be nice.

Hi Jenny,

Im in newcastle and i have to say there are loads of places you can go to eat! I actually find TGI fridays etc very pricey... you are very close to china town and we have numerous chinese restaurants all on one street and a few of them do a buffet , all you can eat and very very nice too, and clean! My favourite is Lau's Buffet King, its fab value for money and of a great standard and great for all the family!

Hi Joanna, thanks for quick reply, there are going to be six of us so a buffet might be a good idea, we will have sat nav in car so a postcode will be enough if you have it that would be great. The more choices we have the better.

The Gate is just next to Stowell Street. That's full of places to eat, including the chains such as TGI's, Frankie and Bennies, etc.
