ICICI Bank

I have applied and sent my initial cheque to ICICI. They emailed my account no/Login Id. My password arrived in the post. First time of trying to use I received the incorrect password/user logon error message. I phoned the tel no and was told to try again an hour later. Success I logged on and changed my password. Today I am back to square one as I cannot gain access - receiving the same error message. Any other money savers had the same experience ? Is it worth another call ? I have logged a complaint via their online form but will wait and see before transferring my money.

What is an "ICICI Bank", never heard of them0 -
http://www.icicibank.co.uk/
It's an online (only) bank.
I've had an account with them for a while now, and have not had any undue problems. Their interest rate's pretty good - 6.41% at the moment.
Stick with it Yorkie - it will be worth a few teething troubles. Make sure it's running ok before you make your main transfers, and you should be fine.If you lend someone a tenner and never see them again, it was probably worth it.0 -
I've has an Hi Save with them since they started and had no trouble at all.
Indeed ,their customer service by telephone has been faultless.Their rates have been consistently at the top tier and todate they have not messed about with them to the usual degree of their more established counbterparts.
In a few years when they have got the market share they want I might not be able to say that if they follow suit with other institutions.0 -
Will stick with it then - thanks very much0

I too have an ICICI HiSave bank account and so far so good. The interest rate advertised (6.41%) has been applied to my account and I have had very prompt responses online and on the phone from their customer services department.
For the interest rate it's well worth sticking with.September 2007 (penny drop date) £35,458

Ditto - I've had an account for about a year without any problems. The service I've received from them has compared favourably with most other banks I've dealt with (though I'm aware that others have had problems).0

I applied for an account with them last Wednesday and haven't heard anything since except for the e-mail with the tracking number.
Do you have to wait for a confirmation e-mail to tell you whether your application has been successful before sending the £1 cheque off?0 -

actually, that's not strictly true. I regularly visit my local branch in Wembley to drop of documents, cheques, etc. They have several branches in the UK, and many hundreds accross the world and in India.
The HiSave account is indeed online only though.0 -
Hi Yorkie,
Are you definitely using the correct login information? I seem to remember I typed (well pasted!) the account number rather than login ID or summat like that!
Good luck0
