Hello All,
I need help on the cheapest way to get to a friends wedding in Las Vegas next year April 5th. She wants us to stay at the MGM grand with them and my girlfriend has agreed to do this as she is her bridesmaid. What is the best way to:
1. get the cheapest flight - we are pretty flexible about when we go, we will travel anytime up to 7 days before the wedding and stay for a few days after the wedding
2. book the cheapest rooms at the mgm grand, is there anyway of getting discounts? group bookings e.t.c.
3. get the best value trip to the grand canyon
Any help would be greatly appreciated as my girlfriend wants to book within the next couple of weeks and i keep telling her that we should wait to see if the prices come down.

The following site has details of a lot of vegas discounts offered by the hotels - However, they do not normally become available till nearer the time

I got married in vegas in 2002 and did all our booking via trailfinders, they usually have adverts in back of independant newspaper. We went to the branch in Cambridge and seemed to get an excellent deal via them and we stayed at MGM for 7 nights, flew into La then onto Vegas and then had 8 nights in LA. For the two of us it was about £2300 which I thought was quite good. My dad stayed at Luxor which was beautiful and not far from MGM if you fancy somewhere different though as MGM is sooooo big, it's a bit crazy.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030

cheers for the advice, I would love to stay somewhere else that was possibly a bit cheaper but my girlfriend is bridesmaid and she has told me we have to stay in the MGM Grand and told me not to question it!0

Never mind. MGM is great, but if I was to go again I think it would be at Luxor. It's great to just wander aimlessly around Vegas. Enjoy it wherever you stay.
MGM is at best end of strip. Make sure you do a buffet breakfast on a day where you haven't much to do as it wears you out just eating so much.
Which chapel is your friend getting married at?WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030 -

My hubby wanted Elvis but I wouldn't let him. Funny enough we didn't see many Elvis's although we were expecting to see loads. If you get chance Elvisarama is ok, but I think it was robbed since we went, so not sure how much memorabilia will be left.
If you fancy a bit of romance with girlfriend take a gondola ride at venetian, bit pricey but when else can you ride a gondola on the 2nd floor of a hotel.
I hope you enjoy Vegas, i went thinking it was probably going to be a bit tacky but actually it was fantastic. I enjoyed it so much my 1st child has middle name vegas as she was conceived on our honeymoon in vegas.
We got married at little chapel of the flowers, great place, it even broadcast wedding on internet, all of our family & friends got to see as we only had another 4 people with us.WW Gold Member, trying to maintain !!!Hayden born July 07Tabitha born April 05Poppy born July 030 -
I was in vegas for the new year celebrations, I booked my flights and hotel seperatley and discovered that my AA card is the same as the america's triple A card which gave me discounts off of my hotel bill. I also did the grand canyon by helicopter with papillon and got a discount. It worked out at 10% off the hotel bill and 25% off the grand canyon trip. My moto is ask what discounts are on offer before your book anything.0

My tips are, join the slot clubs in the casinos you frequent, they will give you a discount book of coupons,
you can also just ask for a fun book in the casinos, they have lots of coupons, also look out for the magazine of coupons, usually outside gas stations, you could get your Grand Canyon trip cheaper, take the free tour bus to Laughlin for the day, we always stay there instead of Vegas.0
