What i did very successfully last year was cut the top of plastic milk cartons leaving the handle on the main part. Poked a few holes in the bottom of the carton, filled with compost and sowed a few carrot seeds in each one. I then put a cane through the handle and added more cartons to the cane and hung them up. This stops the carrot root fly as they cant fly that high. Got perfect carrots (1 per carton as I thinned them out when the seeds germinated).
Going to do the same this year on a much larger scale :T0 -
I save large glass jars with their lids, stand a pot of cuttings on the lid and screw the upside down jar on to the lid and you have an instant greenhouse that you should not need to water for ages.My Mind wanders, if found please return.0

pillows and blankets are great on top of the compost heap to keep it warm and to suppress weeds from growing. best put in a bin bag or they get heavy when wet.0
