Charge Backs - reclaiming for multiple deductions

On Friday I ordered an on-line service for $24.95 with a very well known American company. The order was declined and my account not updated. Today I found out from my UK bank that 8 payments of $24.95 (nearly $200) have been debited from my account. The bank were very unhelpful, and claim there is nothing they can do. The on-line service I ordered claim that the all 8 payments were declined and money hasn't been received by them.
Any ideas what I can do, can I claim my money back from my UK bank? And what action do I need to take?
Thanks in advance.

Yeah you just need to tell your bank and they get the money back for you. No need to deal with the merchant at all.
