For those that have one, if you want to set the box to Software Auto Update then the new version of software 1.00.21 will start to be broadcast 'over-the-air' from 14th Jan at 10AM for the next 7 days.
It might be available to download via their website to upload manually prior to that in the next couple of days.
Of course if you don't want the new software then switch off auto-update

Thanks heard about this the other day been waiting for a update for 6-8 months now, my last one on my 9200 is dated Aug 20060

you can find out the over the air upate schedule at http://www.dtg.org.uk/retailer/download_schedule.pl0

*bump* in case anyone hasn't got autoupdates set.
Still no sign of software on the Humax website though to allow manual updates so whether it may not run is anyones guess0 -
Updated both 9200 this morning
Go on BBC1 first then select manual update and search
Box will reboot straight away before updating, it will take 5-6 minutes
Reset default values and then it will search for the channels, save them or remove the rubbish as we do with shopping rubbish/sport and save
Set box for up for tv, 16.9 scart RGB etc depending on your tv (widescreen or old 4.3)
Updated manual below

Hmm the new version is present now on my Hummy but no programs show the 'Series' icon. Is the 'Default' action mandatory to make this new version work fully? Does this then force me to repeat the process of deleting out the rubbish channels?
Also, I noticed that a 32x forward or reverse speed is there now - was it there before this update I wonder?
One other little thing, who else does not get a Channel 5 schedule unless they actually tune to Channel 5? Most programmes do populate via BBC1.0 -
On the EPG the purple/blue colour shows programs that are in series if you click on them it asks "do you want to record all of them or just the one" or something like that it gives two boxes to choose from
I think the 32x was added to this firmware
Channel 5 does seem to take longer to populate0 -
The deafult setting is recommended as some users experienced issues following the previous updates done via serial cable to the intermediate firmware versions. This will reset your channel list and all settinsg sadly. It will also set your padding settings to 'on time' which will in turn enable the series link and accurate recording functionality. Thats why nothing shows in teh different colours yet as you still have autopadding set.0
-
I gather that one new function is that the Hummy 'tracks' changes in schedule now. So maybe the padding is not needed as much as before, I wonder if a small time shift of a program will now be 'tracked'. Anyway, looks like I need to add the end of programme padding back till I find out.0

It's one or the other you can't combine sadly. You either use padding at both ends or rely on accurate recording. This depends on teh broadcasters putting the data out which seems to be one of the main problems curently, though *touch wood* all programmes I've attempted so far since Monday on accurate record have been successful (majority have been on main 5 channels so whether they are better(though C5 don't broadcast series link it seems))
Any small time shift is exactly what accurate recording should track, about 15 minutes before any scheduled recording starts it is meant to 'switch on' and check the EPG to see if the time has changed. It then waits for teh broadcast signal to click then starts recording, likewise in the event of an overrun it should also sense this and continue recording, but that again depends on the broadcaster0 -
