Digital Video/Sound is compressed using different 'systems', to decompress it you need the appropriate codec. Have a look at the above link to Microsoft to donload codecs - it may not be included but it might be there.0 -
The videolan prog VLC will play anything even dvds -otherwise get k-lite codec pack, free. VLC is so good that I never use wmp.0

WMP even pinches a codec off VLC when its installed. so WMP may then play your prog or disk.Get some gorm.0

is it divx? if yes just go to the divx site. whoes been naughty downloading movies;)There are 10 types of people in the world; those who understand binary and those who don't...0

I also recommend getting XViD http://www.xvidmovies.com/codec/ and DivX http://www.divx.com/
Dont got for these codec packs that have multiple codecs are they sometimes slow your pc down, the above codecs for playing video and mainly what you need
VLC doesnt require codecs installed and a good player, however I normally before Zoom player http://www.divx.com/ that has a builtin update that will install codecs you need. Window media player is pants in comparison
