Tesco don't appear to train their new till staff sufficiently. Yesterday, a 'newbie' told me I had to buy the product to use any coupons. The contrary has been the case for at least 4 years at this branch. This sort of thing, plus the occasional 'jobsworth' can make life interesting to say the least.
  • I've been presenting the Sainsburys £6 off when you spend £60, which have all been accepted - until last weekend, when it was rejected (although I was at a different store). Having said that, the SA still took 3 x 50p Daz coupons.

Sent an email to Tesco customer services yesterday, this was their reply :-

    Thank you for your email.

Any coupons that display the Tesco logo, are Tesco specific. We only accept these if the products referred to on the coupons are purchased. This is because we negotiate savings with our suppliers on the condition that these actual products will be purchased.

With regard to coupons from brand name manufacturers, we are happy to accept one, even if you have not purchased the product. However, the coupon must be in date and Tesco must sell the item. If you present more than one identical coupon, then you must purchase the same number of products.

This also includes coupons printed from the Internet. However, these will only be accepted at the discretion of the Store Manager

    Hi there

What's the email address please? Everytime I've used vouchers in Tesco, they've been rejected by some jobsworth. When I try to use at a selfservice till, it won't go through unless a jobsworth validates it, and they never do.
