sorry about the rant , but I have just had enough of the royal mail losing my customers parcels .I always thought the good old royal mail did a decent job .yes I have had a few things go missing in the past ,I have put my claim form in, compo paid end of story ... how things change since October they have managed to lose or break over £150 in my customers orders and they use every trick in the book to not pay out .so to save me having any more bother I pay an extra 70p per parcel to have it signed for which has reduced my profits heavily. the final straw came today when a customer in Ireland complained they haven't received there parcel , I couldn't get this one signed for as the service wasn't available , another £40 lost .I wish I could use another company to post my everyday items. iam so angry  .is anybody else having the same problems as me ?

I completely agree with you - Royal Mail drive me up the wall!
Its bad enough them losing 5 or 6 of our parcels per week (granted we send loads) but on top of that they make us jump through hoops to get refunded for them. By the time I find all the relevant invoices and proof of postings (from around 300 dispatches a week) they then pick holes e.g. they need extra info or they wont refund for handmade items - despite us providing about 10 invoices showing all the components, they dont refund my delivery cost from suppliers despite me having to specially order extra items cos they lost the original one, they would not refund vat even though I was not registered for vat so it was an actual cost of the product (non-refundable from vat office). I could go on and on about them and dont get me started on them refunding me in stamps!!! We pay our postage at post office and use our business card - no matter how many times I say we dont use stamps they still send them - arghhhhhhh!

Sounds like you got it worse than me Tea3
cheekygilby could you tell me more about tnt post ? is it good value for money ?0 -
Yes,I am upset with them lately too.I have found them to be much worse than usual just lately, infact since the first lot of strikes in the summer I have had a huge increase in lost parcels.I also find that the online tracking is not updated or is just not available at all, best to phone the number on the back of the tracking slip as I have found more info that way.
I have lost money through paypal giving refunds(I sell on ebay by the way)when the online tracking info is useless, even though I know the customer received the item, when the info is not available online for the tracking number you provide they assume its not delivered and issue the refund despite protests. In some really cheeky cases I have even had positive feedback from a customer who has later claimed the item never arrived and successfully got a refund via paypal, all because of Royal mails online tracking system flaws."Reaching out to touch the stars dont forget the flowers at your feet".0
