Camping by public transport!

Hi all
Trying tp plan a camping trip for a couple of weeks from now.Trouble is I don't have a car,so I'm looking for camp sites within walking distance either a train/bus station.I live in the south west so anywhere in Devon/Cornwall would be good, preferably somewhere by the sea.
Thanks in advance

my daughter & i camp many times each year always going on the train. you need to also be near to shops to buy stuff as you go along and preferably near an atm (dont assume- we have made a mistake once or twice). best choices: hollands wood in brockenhurst in new forest (15-20 min walk from train) local shops/ pubs etc, local bike hire and horse riding. ashurst in new forest (10 mins) nice walk to kid friendly pub 15 mins to local shop & post office (cash back) nb no dogs on this site. buy cades camping & caravan book- only guide i have found which gives miles from nearest train station- our bible!!

    Hi
I've had a quick look at the sites mentioned and just wondered if naybody could clarify for me the price - it says "Prices Per Unit Per Night (4 Person)" then different prices depending on the date you go. Does this mean it is therefore say £15 per night in total for the unit for up to 4 people OR it is the equivilent of £15 per night per person ie £60 total. It might just be me but I wasn't sure which way to read it. thanks

the price is for the pitch, per night, for up to 4 people, and yes the price will vary depending on which week you go. most campsites will give a discount if you do not have a car, and most will charge extra if you have awnings, a dog, or if you want an electric hook up. hollands wood can be busy in peak season (ie school hols) so phone for a reservation.
