Changing Nissan Almera headlight bulbs

My stupid car decided to wait until I'd gone back to work before one of the headlights went this morning, instead of doing it last week when I was off, typical!

Anyway I've got a replacement bulb, and I've worked out how to get to the bulb (they really make that as difficult as possible don't they?), but now I'm stuck removing the old bulb. Are they supposed to just pull out, I didn't want to force it in case I broke the light fittings, and since it's getting rather cold out their I gave up and came in to warm up. Hunted around for the manual but that doesn't really make it clear. So does the old bulb just pull out (didn't seem to want to budge),or does it have to be disconnected somehow?

Cheers in advance!

    Which year/model Almera is it?

I think you'll need to squeeze the retaining clips to release the bulb - did you notice anything at the back of the bulb fitment that could be squeezed?

    Hey Crabman! :D

It's an Almera S 2003 Reg, couldn't see anything obvious that would release the bulb, but hard to get at the damn thing to see clearly, as long as it should be a clip or something holding it in place, then at least I know what I should be looking for, thanks!

it should be a metal wire like sprigy clip thing,it hooks in to the bulb bracket, unhook it and the bulb should fall out.
