Advice needed, re: quick credit card

Hi i need some advice, I balance transfered my virgin credit card with a halifax one as I wanted one to be clear as I need the cash and the charges for withdrawing cash from virgin were cheaper than that of the halifax. However, its all gone horribly wrong, Virgin immediately swallowed the money and reduced my limit to £500!! I now need £1600 as I am taking unpaid leave from work and was relying on that money to pay bills until some cash Im due comes through in a couple of months. I paid off my cards with LLoyds and Nationwide when I was a Debt free wannabe and clearing my debts and they are now saying I have to wait for a year to open new credit cards accounts. I am only young with quite a big mortgage, so I think this goes against me even though I have never had any late/missed payments etc.
Any advice please Im desperate!

Cant help you with advice sorry, but given the circumstances you describe, particularly the intention to use a credit card for cash and bill payments, its not really a shock they have done what they have done. Do you absolutely have to take unpaid leave? Have you tried phoning Virgin to see if can be reversed? Could the bills not wait? Maybe best to post on the DFW board again. I personally wouldnt ever rely on someone else's money though to pay bills and essentials without having a backup plan
  • Could you ring virgin and ask them to increase your credit limit again?
I like cooking with wine......sometimes I even put it in the food!
