When I saw the Certificate it would have been the easiest thing in the world to DIY. The only validation is the Court Stamp, the rest of it is just a couple of paragraphs of standard text.

Like the original BR certificate then.

When I first got mine I made a few photocopies but then got them mixed up with the original. The stamp/printing/paper were that sort of quality.

    Hiya

I've just managed to get my Equifax file online and everything is showing up either defaulted or settled - these are dated pre BR. However, there's one on there that's showing current, updated in December, a Barclayloan.

Do I just send them the letter that has appeared on the forum that asks them to update my details ?

    Thanks

For all the accounts, if there is a default it must be dated on or before the bankruptcy date.

But ALL accounts must be marked in some way to indicate that they are settled/satisfied or partially settled/satisfied and state that the current/last balance is zero/satisfied etc.
It is important that every account is marked like this since that then prevents anything being sold on.

See: CREDIT REFERENCE FILE CLEAN UP – POST BANKRUPTCY

For any account that does not meet the above criteria (including the Barclays one) then send the letter linked to below to the institutions 'data controller' by RECORDED SIGNED FOR delivery.

    Thanks Fermi

Some are marked defaulted pre BR and show zero balances, some show balances but are still defaulted.

I noticed that on my credit file, some had been sold on and marked as satisfied so that the debts were showing up twice, original debt and buyer.
  • Has any one actually done this themselves and if so please can you tell me what your creditors actually put on the file?
Do they note that it is due to bankruptcy?
