Be wary of Npower's 17% rise
Hi
I called Npower (who incidently massively overestimated my gas bill - it came down from £400 to £144 when I gave them an actual reading!) to find out about the price hike, which took effect on the 4th Jan. Anyway, they say that gas has increased by 17%, however, it masks the massive rise in the first 4000 units, which has increased by 50% from 4.416p/unit to 6.643p/unit. The cost of the units after that increased from 1.91p to 1.99p.
Is it true that they only have one tariff?

Bit of a mistake to correct their over-estimated bill; you would have paid for the a lot more gas at the old pre-increase rate!!!!
The new tariff means that low consumption customers suffer more than those with high consumption.
1.99p/kWh is still a very good rate.0
