Should I disable Norton before installing??

I'm am about to upgrade vista basic to premium and checked on the Windows upgrade preparation webpage which tells me that I need to lower my browser security setting to medium if it is set higher but it doesn't tell me that I need to disable Norton - do you think I should disable Norton??? any advice much appreciated - I would hate something to go wrong mid way thru. cheers.

I would uninstall it and then leave it uninstalled!

Use a different antivirus program which is quicker and doesn't hog resources

I think you should have uninstalled rather than disabled, using
