Have a read of this.

Note the lights are at Red.0 -
Insulate, economize, read all the threads, especially the stickies, wait for amber or green and using one of the comparison sites, choose your cheapest supplier, bearing in mind the poor service rating of some. Then move after first checking maximum cashback from such as Quidco.0

Thnaks for quick replies. Sorry I am a bit confused. What is meant by 'wait for amber, green...' etc?0 -
Zippydi - as Ken and Billsavings are off-line, and you are still online, I will reply. Look at Billsavings's post, s/he directs you to Martin's discussion on this on the site. There you will see that he has traffic lights which say currently, don't yet switch because the markets are in flux. He will update this when he feels it's a better time for you to check the comparison sites.
Perhaps you can make some cost-savings measures elsewhere before you make the switch, but do trust what Ken68 and Billsavings have said above.
Good luck
