House refurb in Leeds

Hi all,

Have been watching these forums for a long time, and always impressed with the great advice given, so I thought I would ask for some of my own!

Have just moved to Leeds, and bought an old (1830’s) house. While being structurally sound, the interior leaves a lot to be desired ( artex, woodchip etc..)
I was wondering if members in and around the Leeds area could recommend, or point me in the right direction of the following tradespeople:

Plumber, Plasterer, Kitchen fitter/supplier, uPVC window and door supplier/fitter and Driveway installer.

I could do the usual Yellow Pages trawl, but you never know what you might get, and just wondered if any helpful people on here had any advice!

sorry cant help you for leeds area, but dont do the yellow pages idea whatever you do.
get recommendations from family friends workmates etc..

Hi, I am currently having my central heating fitting at this very moment. They just started yesterday but it is by a company called Evershield Heating. http://www.arccomputers.co.uk/evershield/

They haven't finished the job yet so I can't really recommend them on the work they have done yet but I will let you know. But I was really pleased with their thoroughness when pricing the job. They took time explaining things, working out exactly what I wanted and when I said I wanted a different boiler they were more than happy to change the quote.

They weren't the cheapest quote but they were the ones I was most impressed with.

I will let you know how the work ends up.
