I agree with jason s above, although removing a rad is fairly easy

A tip I got from a plumber, after you've had the radiators taken off, put some old screws back into the holes in the wall. The plasterer can go over/round them, and then when the plaster has dried you take the old screws out and you'll be able to put the radiator brackets back in exactly the same place.
When I had my loft converted back into a loft, the neighbours came around and scoffed, and called me retro.

Should perhaps point out that my public liability insurance does cover me for this work.

The main reason I have become multi skilled is that we also renovate and develop property. Although I've had a plumber to help with large replumbing jobs/boiler installations etc in our own properties, the small jobs are within my grasp.

  • i understand what your saying hugo, i wasnt on about our liability insurance i was on about the customers insurance.
If i took a rad off and then refitted,it sprung a leak ruined her shag pile carpet settee or if it were upstairs and leaked all over the place. they call there insurance and try to claim they say sorry not our prob as there wasnt a qualified tradesman who removed the rad. And my insurance say you shouldnt have removed the rad as your not qualified.
If you know what i mean lol
