Now I'm 72 (going to be 73 in 2008!) I don't think there's much point in the H-L Vantage equity ISA any more, especially with the uncertain state of the FTSE - too long-term to be useful.
I save approx £200 every 4 weeks, and I'm planning to put it into my Yorkshire BS cash ISA instead, max that out and anything over and above, into NS&I index-linked savings certificates. At least I'll be certain of 5% or so interest, and the equity ISA isn't doing as well as that at present.
Any comments?
Margaret

That sounds fair enough, though I suspect there are more competitive cash ISAs out there than Yorkshire BS. It is worth checking out the recommendations in the relevant article on this site for a start.0

of course, if you have contributed to a maxi ISA this tax year you won't be able to open a cash ISA until 6th april0

Thanks.
No, I haven't contributed to a maxi ISA.
I have an equity ISA with H-L and a cash ISA with Yorkshire BS.
