Lite-On DVD Recorder Corrupts DVD-RW discs

My Lite-On DVD recorder 5006 has a VERY annoying habit lately of corrupting DVD-RW discs which have been recoreder to but not filled.
Last night for example, I had it set to record on one for a TV show on time. When I started the player to watch the program, it formatted my disc and everything on that disc was lost!
Why is this happening and how can I stop it?

I have a LiteOn HDD/DVD recorder, but I haven't experienced your problems. Have you tried looking at the LiteOn Users Forum?0
