O2 and the Spice Girls (getting there)

I am going with my daughter to see the Spice Girls tomorrow. We not that good travelling in London. The last train back home is 00:05 and takes us over 2 hours (usually 1.22) but have to change. Parking at the centre is I believe £20. Does anyone have any idea if there are more local places to park that are cheaper. Someone suggested to me there are shopping centres nearby where they parked but would I get clamped!! If that was the case I would rather pay the £20. I dont mind taking the bus into Greenwich a bit and then driving home but would like some practical options from local people. Thanks in advance

You don't say where you are travelling from, getting the tube for the last bit may be cheaper than £20 parking.

I am going tonight although I do live locally , however there is a NCP car park next to the O2 which costs £6 to park in . This is where I plan to park . Doors for the concert open at 6.30pm but my mate who went last week said the Spice Girls didn't come on stage till 8.30pm so should there be a problem with the NCP car park it will give me plenty of time to find another car park , Greenwich has a fair few of them ! I will let you know how I get on .

Should be car park no 1 , next to a big circle on the map which is the O2 arena , North Greenwich LU Station , click on the blue writing and then just underneath is a load of writing and the charges are written down there . I will let you know though if i can tonight when I get back in otherwise I will write on here 1st thing in the morning ok .

Well I have been in for about 20 mins now , oh my god , what a fantastic night . Take a camera for definite , they don't stop you taking photos ! Which was cool as I had 2 cameras on me so recording clips on one and taking photos on the other !

Anyway , when you head towards the O2 , follow the signs for the Greenwich Peninsula , then you will see the O2 in front of you . Stay in the left hand lane and then follow the signs for parking station . You will then come to a junction and you need to turn right here , then take the 1st left into the car park , you will see the NCP sign , there is a blue hut at the entrance to it . Then basically just find a space and pay and display £6 , so take 6 pound coins if you can . Then just follow the crowd basically , walk through the entrance of the Underground station but walk through to the other side and then follow the walkway and it bears to the left and the O2 will be in front of you .

We had a great time , was 7 rows from the front and right beside the cat walk and the Spice Girls were great , if they saw you were trying to take a photo , especially Geri and Mel C , they would hold up for as long as they could possibly giving you a chance to get the pic you wanted . Everyone was going mental every time Victoria sang and all in all it was just one bloody great night and I really hope you enjoy it too !

e wnt to see the Spice Girls last night and surprisingly, I quite enjoyed it! ;-)

Parking was a doddle! We drove to the Dome, went to Car Park 4 and told the security guy we were going to the cinema.

We parked there for for just 5 pounds and there was hardly any walking involved!

Going to see Celine Dion in May and will def do the same!:beer:

Parking was really easy. Cant believe anybody would pay £20 to park in the actual arena. Everything is so well organised and I would certainly go back to see concerts there. No hassle getting out afterwards and the Spice Girls were brilliant. Absolutely packed out and they put on a great show. If you can go its worth it
