Why Wont Vista Let Me Delete Files?

Just got myself a Laptop ( Sony Vaio). I am in the process of transferring my documents to it. I transferred a couple of photo's that I realize I dont want, so I tried to delete them and it wont let me. I get the message " you do not have permission to delete these files- please ask the owner to delete them" Well, I am the owner of the laptop, and as far as I am aware, i am the owner of the files, as I put them on my old PC. So what do I do? I 've got a vision of never being able to delete any files.

You need to take "ownership" of those files. Check the properties0

Is the account you are using an administrator account or a regular user? It's my problem, it's my problem
If I feel the need to hide
And it's my problem if I have no friends
And feel I want to die0 -
