Best rate for 1 year living outside the UK

I live outside the UK in the EU. Over the years PART of my investment strategy has been to keep a pot of cash in sterling. This has been invested in a lot of different places over the years. UK building society's, UK banks, offshore ie Guernsey, Jersey etc and Non UK Banks. This money is and has always been completely white and interest is declared to my Tax office.
Now that I am resident overseas AND do not have a UK address most if not all of the saving opportunity's in the UK are closed to me. So for example while it would seem very easy to place money in a UK Building Society and earn 5 and 6+ percent their offshore equivalents offer much less. For example a call to the Woolwich Geurnsey today gave the following fixed rates
3 months 4.81%
6 months 4.95%
12 months 4.76%
How do I do better than this and add my liquidity to the UK
Any help please!

do you have any family in the UK if so could you not take over one of their utility bills( they could still pay you the money for the bills)
That way you will be able to provide a UK address plus proof of residence by using a utility bill in your name
Then you can open as many online accounts as you like and operate them from any where in the world
so long as you retain British Citizenship there should be no problem with thisI found my eutopia tee hee I live in canada yeehaa!0
