The point I tried to make was that you cannot pay the bill before you recieve it. It's not a tactic, just a sensible way to keep things organised; you recieve a bill then pay it within a month when the next bill will arrive. It would be very complicated (perhaps irresponsible) if an early payment was offset against future bills. I think a month to pay a bill is chosen since most people are paid monthly

this is the point i am making,u say" you recieve a bill pay it within a month"thats just it its only 25 days not a month,if the due date is the 30th then the bill for the next months should be sent from the 31st ,not the 5th
Always remember that you're unique, just like everybody else:cool:

I agree with you on this one. I had this happen to me with a Halifax card and i was charged a late payment fee. I argued my case and got the fee refunded. I was paying like you on the 5th of each month and the bill always arrived on the 3rd apart from once when because the 3rd happened to be a Saturday the bill was not generated till the 5 and arrived on the 7th. By that time i had paid as i thought the bill was lost or whatever. I think this is a tactic to catch you out. i don't see why not paying by direct debit should make any difference.
