Sneaky ING

Sneaky ING have a special offer for new customers only of an additional
0.53% on their Savings Account making it 5.70% AER rather than 5.15% AER.
They have clearly decided to not advertise the 5.70% AER rate for new customers only on the front page of their site where all their exisiting customers will go to log in. Instead they have only put it in the savings section of the site knowing full well that this is where new customers will
look.
For exisiting customers to log in and not see the offer...

For new customers to find the offer...

From what was once one of the few banks who stood out as being different they have actually turned into one of the worst. Funny thing is even their 5.70% offer is rubbish.

It's a 12 month bonus though. Existing customers presumably wouldn't be able to just close their old account and open a new one straight away. No point advertising it to them if they don't qualify for it!0

Do people who read these boards still have significant savings with ING?Conjugating the verb 'to be":
-o I am humble -o You are attention seeking -o She is Nadine Dorries0 -

Sure do I have £7.00 invested!:j0 -
Blimey! By comparison I still have a fortune with them - £16. When I shipped the money out months ago, I forgot about the interest that had accrued and paid at the end of the month. That has been sitting there ever since!0

£13 spread across 11 accounts (10 ordinary plus 1 websaver) with about 1.20 in each. This gives me 11p interest per month (1p per account) due to the rounding up......under construction.... COVID is a [discontinued] scam0

I do have money in ING - I forgot that I asked for various dividend payments to go in, so it's probably a good thing I didn't close it down. I wonder what happens to payments in those circumstances - I mean, I know what's SUPPOSED to happen, but the actuality is usually a bit different. I can't be bothered to contact the various companies involved, so they'll just go chugging along.0

It does not take a lot to confuse me but know, I think, I am! Reading this thread with interest as I am one of those original customers who went with ING when they first launched. Then with thousands of others I !!!!!!ed off elsewhere when they started to take the Mickey by not passing on the increase in interest rates. Again like others I left a nominal amount in the account and last October received their offer of 6.3% to return. Okay it was only for two months but I thought I would move it on the day I received the interest but ING beat me to it by then offering 5.5%. I do not know if I am doing the 'right thing' by leaving it there but wonder why I am not getting that 5.7%.0
