Gatwick to London - shuttle?
Options
Hi
I've never been to Gatwick airport yet am familar with Stansted and have taken Easybus many times to and from there.
Is there anything similar for Gatwick? Which shuttle operators drive into London from Gatwick? We'll be arriving at Gatwick around 3am.
What is the cheapest way to get into London? Where abouts in London would the shuttle drop us?
Thanks in advance!

Don't even think of taking a coach from Gatwick - it's a major pain travelling by road from Gatwick and AFAIK the only service is National Express to Victoria
Instead (and out of rush hour), take the Southern Trains - em train - to Victoria, the First Capital Connect train to London Bridge & St Pancras or to be really clever take the FCC train to London Bridge, wait at the same platform for a couple of minutes, then take the next train to Charing Cross.
So depending on your hotel find the nearest main station and plug it into https://www.nationalrail.co.uk0 -
both Southern and First Capital Connect operate throughout the night also, takes around 40 mins - definatly the best way to do it.
easybus are starting a Gatwick service but as the previous poster said its a long way and quite a pain!0 -
Strange, I can't seem to bring up any of the £2 fares for Easybus, despite the website saying the £2 fares also apply to Gatwick trips! I've searched many days and the cheapest is £4!0

Easybus to/from Gatwick is not available until 18 March 2008.
£2.00 tickets are available for a few evening services each day. There seem to be more available from Central London to Gatwick than in the other direction. I imagine the £2 tickets will go quickly so you may not see them on some days.0 -
Gatwick Express (runs throughout the night) goes direct from Gatwick to Victoria no stops. Also has special ticket fares (i.e. cost more).
Southern (dont think they run throughout the night) Gatwick to London Bridge/Victoria
First Capitial Connect (Thameslink), (runs throughout the night) Gatwick to London Bridge, St Pancras.
Youve got plenty of trains, well not plenty but its an hourly service.Ex-Employee of a Train Operating Company.
