buying from a site and not happy

No sure if right thread but here goes,i placed an order for some clocks on the 22nd of dec,ok was holiday time,many places close down for days in between and some probably full two weeks,well there was some sale items and i placed an order for some items i wanted that all showed in stock at the time of placing the order.
It took my order and the order showed in the order history,but it never showed as being processed,dealt with.
I emailed i think it was after xmas and was told it would be soon,i since noticed that one of the clocks had no longer been shown on there site.
Not to worry as my order was placed,but not yet payment taken.
I noticed just a day or two ago that it was finally sorted out and all i could do not is wait.
Well it came very quick next day,but when i opened the box it only had two of the clocks and not the third one i mentioned that suddenly went missing from the site,it still showed the three on my order history and still does,but i never got the third one,so i am maybe thinking that maybe they did have these maybe had a shop or store and maybe sold there stock and had none to send me,but there was no mention of this that the third clock would not be sent and again it still shows the order as three clocks.
Well first thing i did was check my card and see how much was taken from me,well they only took payment for two of the clocks and slightly reduced p+p charges.
What annoys me if i had known they would not have sent the third one i would have canceled and got them from other sites,but it was not mentioned.
What tops this off,its about the first website i have ordered from in many years that did not included an invoice ok,i am not bothered about that but thats a strange one.
And finally to top it all off i noticed that one clock looked to be the wrong way wrong in its packaging,i also noticed the tape had once been stuck down and been open and stuck back again and the clips holding the clock in its box missing making it no secure and not fixed to its box.
Ok thats not a big deal as would be removed from its box once starting to use it,but this tells me i was given a return item or an ex display clock,the other was fine and looks new but this other clearly was not and after looking closely at it i see there is a tiny chip on one corner as they are class and also you can tell is been in use or just been on display.
Sorry this went on a bit but where do i stand with these and them,it says on there site if i want to return i pay to postage to do so,i will not be doing such thing and i will want them to pay this at there expense and its nothing i did wrong but everything the did not do,if they are happy to do that they i should be ok,but if not where do i stand i am not paying to have this retuned when its there fault and i said i would maybe keep them is they can part refund me on what i paid.
But i need to know in advance if i have problems with these people how i sort this out,its not for a great deal of money but its just the crap i have had to put up with and i said if i dont get a result i will take this further but what can i do,i can for start name and shame them on many sites which is not good for there business,what else can i do,i hope i get this sorted out.
But people who run site and such crap should not get away with it,its a joke

To not have to pay return postage you'd need them to be in breach of the contract somehow. Fortunately for you even a tiny chip can make goods of unsatisfactory quality under the Sale of Goods Act so if you have to really push them you probably can. I couldn't tell if you just wanted to return the one clock or both so it's also worth noting that if any of the goods are in breach of the contract you can reject all of them.
However, if they're as bad a company as you say they can make this difficult for you, as after all they have your money and the only way you can actually make them give it back is with a judgement from the Small Claims Court if it comes down to it. Good luck!0 -
As you've only paid for 2, and p&p was reduced, I'd leave it at that - unless you have infinite patience to follow it up, in the knowledge that you are unlikely to get any greater satisfaction in the end. You can of course say who the company was and let people have you views on them and their service.0

if your not happy then you can return the items under the distance selling regulations but you need to do this within 7 days of receiving the items.0
